Obama in an Egyptian Comedy
Filmmaker Said Hamed has recently announced that he will start to shoot his new comedy Obama after finishing casting this month. Comedic actor Soliman Eid, mostly known for his supporting roles, will play US President Barack Obama in a story that runs from his presidential campaign up to his visit to Egypt last year. Hamed, who is of Sudanese descent, has another 2010 project called The Road to Darfur, which will be focusing on the armed conflicts near the Sudanese border. Both screenplays are still awaiting local censors’ final approvals.
